Life has Momentum

There are moments in time when most things wrong can be made right.

Let me be the stimulus that helps initiate a whole new beginning for you.

Let us begin with one choice that begets another choice.

Let the dominoes start falling in the right direction.

A peaceful life without medication is the ultimate high. Drugs don’t heal the mind. They are a short-term solution without resolution. Everyone deserves the opportunity to live a full life. I can help you put clarity and exhilaration back in your life. Putting a voice to personal concern accomplished this goal. Talking with a professional you can trust really works.

Meet James Blundo, MA, LPC

For the past 40 years, I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), devoting my time to my practice, to the community, and as an advocate for Michigan’s Counseling Profession.

I have put my knowledge and experience to work helping families, adults, teens, executives, plus adult children of alcoholics to overcome adversities, restore their belief in themselves, release old patterns, and create the lives and relationships they desire.

“I teach people to believe in themselves”.

In all my years of private practice I have been reminded of how I have overcome my own negative life experiences. And also, over time, have developed vast counseling expertise in every scenario, so many more than you could imagine.

I am not locked into diagnosing anything that is wrong with you especially because lives tend to be very complicated. I believe that everyone can become the Master of their Destiny through Talk Therapy.

Counseling is not just about behaviors and feelings. My focus is on learning what is behind those behaviors and feelings that impact your life.

In order to bring about change, navigating childhood, learning the strategies and mechanisms (some good, some maybe not-so good) help you to find peace in your life. These skills move you over to a healthier adulthood.

My Unique Approach to Counseling

Self-anger creates poor self-esteem and often leads to depression and anxiety. It also creates a loneliness that can’t be resolved through behavior changes. The origin of this stems from childhood shame and childhood trauma.

I am interested in helping you find out what’s behind feelings and behavior that cause you to not function at your best, and so you can acquire a more complete mastery of self.

Medication should only be used to bridge your fears and random thoughts. Very few of my clients need to be on meds both legal and illegal for a lifetime.

Many people suffer from fear, regrets, and guilt throughout their life and stay tied to their past. This keeps you frozen and unable to lead a full life. This can be overcome through: Lasting Resolution Therapy.

Understanding Regret & Guilt, Trauma & Fear

The main problem most people suffer from

is not believing in themselves.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Events in their life, their teachers, and even their family have made them feel inadequate,

unloved and/or just “not good enough”.

The heavy burden of Regret & Guilt will keep you tied to the past.

The past is a place of reference and now is the time to deal with the present.

Understanding the Trauma & Fear of childhood and adult life, the skills you learned along the way;

connecting and relating to people in the present; those skills you learned in childhood to you carried into the present.

 Lasting Resolution Therapy (LRT)

No one escapes our lifetime of experience. We learn from the moment we are born to the moment we die. Regret and Guilt can and do pull us down and make us lose confidence. Trauma and Fear can impact every aspect of our lives and also drag us down.

To be certain, it’s extremely important to learn the best strategies to live a fulfilling life otherwise anxiety and depression win. We decline and fail to thrive. I can help you take the steps for reframing your life experiences and turn them into the possibilities of today.

We need to learn to accept things out of our control. Often, there is rarely closure and you don’t understand the “why” behind it. Lasting Resolution Therapy teaches how to thrive without closure.

My approach to counseling is based on training, life experience, and counseling thousands of clients. The results of my approach lead to a more balanced life and the tools to deal more effectively with much less anxiety and depression. I will work with you to build around learning not to cause unintended sabotage through self-shame and inward anger.

This is not a gimmicky or quick fix but a much better chance to thrive throughout the remainder of your life.

First comes the sense of self-worth,

self-acceptance, self-belief,

and then comes the rest.

Self-Worth and Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is what we think and feel and believe about ourselves.

Self-worth is recognizing that I am greater than all of those things.

Self-Worth is vital to your emotional health and happiness.

Often, our sense of self-worth is shaped by past experiences.

Therapy can help you explore the roots of low self-esteem and break free from limiting beliefs formed in childhood or past relationships.

Self-esteem is our sense of worth. It is a self-evaluation of who we are and is often neither fair nor objective. In turn, a negative relationship with ourselves can damage our relationships, careers, and overall satisfaction with our lives. Low self-esteem can affect nearly every aspect of life. It can impact your relationships, job and health. But you can boost your self-esteem by taking cues from my mental health counseling. That improved awareness can lead to a more realistic sense of self-worth and self-esteem.

No matter how painful the consequences, self-forgiveness is key to maintaining self-esteem and feelings of self-worth.

Counseling Teens & Young Adults

Life gets easier when you genuinely feel an inner confidence.

Instead of a cocky self-absorption or a fake-it-til-you-make-it attitude, you can develop a true comfort in your skin,

have an openness with others, and an understanding of your uniqueness, and how that can propel you forward.

help teens and young adults in their 20’s and 30’s to develop an adult internalized self so they will make better choices in relationship and careers. They are on their journey in life and often find it hard to break away from dependency on parents, and create their own path in life.

Sometimes it takes more than an education, technical training, internet learning, and the advice of peers to move your life forward. I have helped thousands of people through my talk therapy to develop their inner self, and build a secure, confident, powerful life.

Everyone experiences emotions differently. Therapy is an essential component of dealing with difficult emotions such as depression, sadness, emptiness, guilt, anxiety, panic attacks, or anger. In therapy, an individual can learn more about why they feel and think the way they do.

It’s not unusual for anxiety or depression to open the door to self-harming behaviors. These struggles rarely exist in isolation. They overlap, shift, and feed into each other in ways that can be hard to untangle. Talking to a trusted person can help to understand the root cause rather than repressing or acting on them.
