Divorce, Breakup, Loss

“After my divorce I felt so lost and alone.  All of my friends were married. I didn’t know any single people my age.

My family did their best to listen but I still felt like I had nobody to talk to.

After all, they had known my x for 20+ years.  They were still emotionally involved too.”  ~Anonymous

Going through a divorce is certainly one of the most devastating life experiences you can go through; both financially and emotionally.  It has been likened to experiencing a death.  To make matters worse, you often are forced to interact with your X-spouse because of children, where you live and/or the social circles you travel in.

While going through the ending of a significant relationship, grieving allows people to work through their thoughts and feelings. One reason grieving can be complicated is that - unlike grief after a death - both people are still physically present. It is certainly one of the most devastating life experiences you can go through.
